The Health and Family Welfare Department of the Odisha Government has decided to administer the vaccine to the children with on-site registration as the required features were yet to be updated on the CoWIN portal.

District administrations have been directed by the government to set up separate vaccination centres for the children as only Corbevax vaccine will be administered to them.

The vaccination drive will be initially conducted at selected schools in coordination with the respective district education officers.

Chief District Medical Officers have been asked to run the drive during morning hours in view of the heatwave conditions in the state.

Documents Required: For registration at the vaccination centres, the children need to produce their birth certificate or Aadhaar card. As the centres have been opened in schools, student ID cards or approval of teachers will also be accepted, said Dr Bijay Panigrahi, Director of Family Welfare.

Around 15.21 lakh children in the 12-14 years age group in Odisha will be administered two doses of Corbevax vaccine in a gap of 28 days.
