Vedanta Aluminium supports 7th State Yogasana Championshipin Rayagada, promoting wellness among Odisha’s youth

Rayagada, May 28, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment towards holistic community well-being and youth development, Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, supported the 7thState Yogasana Championship 2026, organised by the Yogasana Sports Association of Odisha (YSAO) at the Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, Rayagada, from May 21 to 26, 2026.

The championship brought together nearly 350 athletes from across Odisha, competing across junior, senior and veteran categories in a diverse range of Yogasana disciplines including traditional, artistic and rhythmic performances, along with specialised balance and flexibility events. The event celebrated physical fitness, discipline and holistic well-being while providing a platform for athletes to showcase their talent and dedication.

Several eminent dignitaries attended the championship including Chief Guest Shri Nabin Chandra Naik, Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Rayagada, and Special Guest Shri Appal Swami Kadraka, Hon’ble MLA, Rayagada. Other distinguished guests included Shri Yella Venkata Raman, PAITDA Rayagada; Shri Bhajan Lal Majhi, District Education Officer; CA Dibakara Harichandan, State President, YSAO; Shri Manoj Kumar Mukharji, General Secretary, YSAO; Prof. Dr. Dusmant Kumar Mohanty; Dr. Alok Kumar Swain, Competition Director; and Shri Nrusingha Kumar Bahinipati, President, YSAR.

Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary of Yogasana Sports Association of Odisha,Mr. Manoj Kumar Mukharjee said,“We appreciate Vedanta Aluminium’s support towards initiatives that promote wellness, sports and community engagement across Odisha.Yoga is deeply rooted in India’s cultural heritage, and such platforms play an important role in inspiring healthier lifestyles,encouraging discipline, confidence and overall well-being among youth.”
