TPCODL Celebrates World Environment Day and Launches Tata Sustainability Month 2026
Bhubaneswar, 5th June 2026: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with enthusiasm and commitment, marking the launch of Tata Sustainability Month 2026 under the theme “Thinking is Good, Doing is Better.” The celebration highlighted TPCODL’s continuous efforts towards environmental sustainability and responsible operations. The program witnessed active participation from employees and leadership members, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to building a greener and more sustainable future.
World Environment Day, is observed globally on June 5 every year, to inspire collective action towards protecting and restoring the environment. As part of Tata Sustainability Month, this year’s theme emphasizes the importance of converting awareness and intent into action and encourages employees, consumers and communities to actively participate in sustainability initiatives.On the occasion, Shri Gajanan S. Kale, CEO, TPCODL and Chief of Odisha Distribution Business, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment towards driving positive environmental change through responsible business practices, energy conservation initiatives and community engagement activities.Addressing the gathering, Shri Kale emphasized that sustainability is no longer limited to awareness alone, but requires meaningful and consistent action. He encouraged employees to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their personal and professional lives and contribute towards creating a cleaner and more resilient Odisha.
As part of the celebration, employees took the World Environment Day pledge, environmental projects for the financial year and sustainability engagements for the month-long campaign were unveiled. Sapling and seed ball plantation drives were also conducted across different Circle Offices, Division Offices and Section Offices to promote environmental conservation and enhance green cover.The Tata Sustainability Month 2026 program includes a wide range of activities such as World Environment Day e-Quiz, sustainability awareness campaigns in schools, plogging drives, “Best Out of Waste” initiatives, awareness emailers and learning sessions. Competitions including poster making, slogan writing and essay writing for employees and their wards are also being organized to encourage creativity and environmental awareness.
