Updates on flood situation and relief operation in Mayurbhanj district*
Heavy Rain since 29.08.2026 has affected 21 Blocks and 1 Municipality in Mayurbhanj District. A total of 2 ODRAF teams (deployed in Badasahi, Saraskana and Rasgovindpur Blocks ) alongside 11 Fire Service teams and remain active for rescue and support operations.
Relief & Healthcare Services :
• Evacuation & Shelter: 22 relief/free kitchen centers are currently operational, providing shelter and meals to 10501 affected individuals.
• Medical Care: 9 dedicated medical teams have been deployed to address health needs in the affected areas of Baripada, Betanati, Badasahi,Saraskana and Rasgovindpur Block area.
• 3 MVU is also deployed for veterinary health care in Betanati, Badasahi & Rasgovindpur .
• Emergent Relief Materials: Essential relief supplies have been distributed, including 118 polythene rolls (9 Rolls distributed today), along with dry food items like Mudhi, mixture, biscuits, and bottled drinking water.
Initial Damage Assessment:
• Structural Damage Assessment: Initial field assessments since 29.08.2026 record 2 fully damaged pucca houses, 2 fully damaged kutcha houses, 5 severely damages Kutcha houses and 538 partially damaged kutcha houses, alongside minor damage to 6 hut and 16 cowshed.
