IMPCC Meeting Focuses on Strengthening Coordinated and Effective Government Communication
Bhubaneswar, 03.09.2026: The September meeting of the Inter-Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC), Odisha, which facilitates coordination among various media organisations of the Government of India, was held today at the NABM Prasar Bharati Conference Hall in Bhubaneswar. The meeting focused on strengthening public outreach through emerging technologies and digital tools, along with presentations on key achievements and best practices adopted by member organisations.
The meeting was chaired by Shri Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director General, PIB and CBC, Bhubaneswar and Chairman, IMPCC. Representatives of various member organisations discussed ways to make government communication more coordinated and effective, with emphasis on wider dissemination of information, coordinated use of different media platforms and ensuring that accurate information reaches the public in a timely manner.
In his keynote address, Shri Mishra drew upon Franz Kafka’s celebrated 1915 work “The Metamorphosis” to underline the importance of communication and the consequences of its absence. Referring to the character of Gregor Samsa, he explained how isolation, alienation, dehumanisation and silence can affect family, professional and social relationships. He observed that in an organisational setting, lack of communication can adversely affect information flow, coordination and efficiency, while emphasising that open dialogue, even in situations of disagreement or dissatisfaction, is more constructive than silence. He called for continuous and open communication among individuals, departments and organisations.
