Tata Steel Celebrates Bharat Ratna JRD Tata’s 118th Birth Anniversary
Joda, July 29, 2022: Tata Steel celebrated 118th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata, better known as JRD Tata, at Joda on Friday.
In view of upward trend of Covid-19 cases across the country, precautionary measures were taken while organising several activities to mark the day.
The day started with floral tribute to the legendary figure and father of Indian Aviation at JCO by Mr Saroj Kumar Banerjee, Chief (Joda), Tata Steel along with other senior officials, employees and Union representatives. Similar homage programmes were organised at Joda East, Khondbond, Manganese Group of Mines, Bichakundi and Ferro Alloys Plant, Joda.
On this occasion, a voluntary blood donation programme was organsied at Tata Steel Hospital, Joda. Suchismita Das, Officiating Chief Medical Officer, Tata Steel Hospital, Joda inaugurated the event in the presence of employees, other senior doctors and staff.
To commemorate the day, 300 saplings were planted in Gandhalpada Mines area in Sundargarh district. Besdies, under ‘Outdoor Leadership Programme’ 30 local youths who had visited Jamshedpur earlier this week, were distributed participation certificates.
