Collector Sambalpur InauguratedTPWODL’s ‘Ula Model’ Rooftop Solar System in Takwa Village

Burla/Sambalpur, 05 December 2025: TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), the electricity distribution company in Western Odisha, has successfully installed ‘Ula Model-Utility Led Aggregation Model’one-kilowatt rooftop solar system in Takwa village under Maneswar block of Sambalpur district.

The installation on the rooftop of Smt. Sarojini Acharyawas formally inaugurated today, by Shri Siddheshwar Baliram Bondar, IAS, District Magistrate of Sambalpur, in the presence of Sri Mukesh Kumar Bhamoo, IPS, Superintendent of Police Sambalpur, Mr. Rihan Khetri, IAS, Municipal Commissioner of Sambalpur, Shri Prasanna Kumar Patra, CDO-Cum-EO, Sambalpur and Senior officers and employees of TPWODL. The solar system has been installed at a remarkably affordable cost of just ₹8,747.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Siddheshwar Baliram Bondar, IAS, District Magistrate of Sambalpur, stated “This is a remarkable step towards achieving sustainable energy access in Sambalpur district. Through this initiative, households can reduce or even eliminate their monthly electricity bills. More than 3,000 solarpanels under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojanahave already been installed in the district. We aim to expand solar adoption to every household in Sambalpur, and I appreciate TPWODL for spearheading this transformative project.”

Under the ULA scheme, the eligible consumers need not have to spend the entire installation cost of one kw solar system, which approximately cost 65 to 75 k, but just by paying Rs. 5000 to words the solar panels and Rs. 3747 towards a solar meter totalling Rs. 8747 only all inclusive.TPWODL will not only install the entire system but also provide warranty for 5 years on the entire machineries and 25 years warranty for the solar panels.

This may be also noted here that the scheme is part of the nation-wide lunched PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana for creating a revolution in renewableenergy generation and environment protection. The targeted low-income group and the middle class of the society will be immensely benefited and can now afford for installation of RST system and the participate in the renewable energy revolution.
