Rourkela: It was a jam-packed evening with music at Dillip Tirkey stadium of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NITR) yesterday as students as well as faculty of the premier educational institution were glued to their seats for a four-hour long performance by popular playback singer Jubin Nautiyal.
More than 5,000 students were in attendance at the annual Celebrity Night event, organised by Student Activity Centre (SAC) of NITR.
The singer enthralled the audience by belting out many of his superhit songs. Students were seen moving their body and waving hands with mobile flashlights rhythmically at the concert.
Sundergarh Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner Dr Subhankar Mohapatra, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) Director In-Charge Atanu Bhowmik and NIT Rourkela Director Prof K Umamaheshwar Rao and Registrar Prof Rohan Dhiman graced the event as guests.
Besides, Indian Railway Traffic Service Area Manager (Bondamunda) Nishant Kumar and Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Rourkela) Amit Yadav and JP Hospital MD Bansal attended the event, among other dignitaries.
The show was organised with the joint efforts of the entire SAC team, including Dean (Student Welfare) Prof Sidhartha S Jena, SAC President Prof Poonam Singh and eight vice-presidents.
The previous editions of Celebrity Night have witnessed performances by renowned singers like Sonu Nigam, Kailash Kher, Vishal–Shekhar, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim–Sulaiman, KK, Javed Ali, Papon, Jonita Gandhi and Mohammed Irfan.
