Level-III Offsite Disaster Drill conducted by Paradip Refinery
Paradip, 10.03.2022: Paradip Refinery conducted a LEVEL-III Mock Drill (Offsite Disaster Drill) on 9th March 2023 with an aim to check the effectiveness of the emergency response and preparedness of the Refinery and various agencies under Jagatsinghpur district administration to combat any disaster like situation. The drill was executed in line with the approved Emergency Response and Disaster Management Plan (ERDMP) of PDR with the active participation of Refinery, CISF’s fire wing and Emergency Handling Teams, BOOT agencies, Members of Mutual Aid partners- M/s PPL, M/s IFFCO, M/s PPA and IOCL Pipelines Division-PHBPL, Odisha State Fire & Rescue Services, NDRF, representatives of District Administration and members of the nearby villages. The Scenario envisaged for the drill was leakage of propylene gas from a Propylene loaded Tank Truck on the road between Refinery & Township near Tank Truck Parking area.
Response & control measures taken as per the protocols of Emergency Response & Disaster Management Plan were well coordinated and it was appreciated by all the authorities. Mr Mukesh Mohan, ED&RH, Paradip Refinery chaired the debriefing session of the exercise.
