Man Held For Raping, Killing Minor Girl In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: The Airfield police have arrested a man for allegedly raping and killing a minor girl at Kela Sahi slum in Sundarpada area of Odisha capital on Monday evening.
The accused, identified as Surendra alias Ghania, was recently released from a de-addiction centre as he was earlier addicted to liquor.
According to reports, the accused had entered the house of the deceased on the fateful day while her parents had gone to workplace.
He went near the girl on the pretext of giving her candies. The accused then allegedly raped the girl.
As the victim tried to scream for help, Ghania murdered the girl by slitting her throat. He later absconded to evade arrest.
As the parents of the girl returned home, they found their daughter lying in a pool of blood. Though they rushed her to a hospital, she was declared dead by doctors.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by the parents of the girl, the Airfield police have registered a case.
