As the first initiative under Odisha 2.0, Project Training on Wheels was formally launched on 6th October 2025 at the Power Distribution Technology Centre, Bhubaneswar by Odisha Discoms in collaboration with TPSDI. The project has been conceptualized to take training infrastructure to the door-steps of employees at Fuse Call Centres (FCCs) and PSS locations across Odisha’s vast 1.54 lakh sq. kms service area, covering 743 Sections, thereby ensuring that quality training reaches even the remotest corners of the state.
The project will deliver training modules on Electrical Safety, Behavioural Safety, Essential Safety Practices, Technical Training, Safety While Working at Height and First Aid & Emergency Management. Through this initiative, Odisha Discoms expect to significantly improve safety awareness and compliance, encourage better adoption of safety and technical standards and enhance accessibility of training across remote geographies.
“This initiative of ‘Training on Wheels’ will go a long way to enhance the technical skills of our people in the field. The effort taken by Odisha Discoms is truly commendable and I wish the team all the very best for this initiative,” said Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.

Now, we are looking forward to Odisha 2.0 — the next phase of transformation. The ‘Training on Wheels’ initiative is a part of this transformation program. Our aim is to reach as many people as possible at the grassroots level, including linemen and helpers, to train them effectively,” stated Shri Gajanan Kale, Chief, Odisha Power Distribution Business and CEO, TPNODL.
