Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Gives Nod To 36 More Police Stations In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: To boost better policing across the State, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved establishment of 36 new police stations for quick and improved service delivery in handling law and order situations, and also directed that these be made functional at the earliest.

As many as 563 new posts will be created as part of the endeavour. The decision was taken considering the rising population and security requirements of the administration

The new police stations  will come up at Bagedia and Gopalprasad in Angul, Gopalpur and Anantpur in Balasore, Bargarh (Rural) in Bargarh,  Nimakhandi (Berhampur) in Ganjam, Laxmijor and Agalpur in Balangir, Ghantapada (Boudh), Maitri Vihar under Bhubaneswar Commissionerate, Maniabandha, Jodum and Bhadreswar under Cuttack (Rural), Laimura in Deogarh, Mahavir Road in Dhenkanal, Beguniapada and Kotinada (Ganjam), Krusnanandapur (Jagatsinghpur), Alakunda, Brahmabarada and Dasarathpur of Jajpur, airport police station in Jharsuguda, Karlapat and Kalampur in Kalahandi, Pattamundai (Rural) and Kudanagari in Kendrapada, Manoharpur in Keonjhar, Nachuni in Khurdha, Sunki in Koraput, Korukonda (Malkangiri Sadar), Bhanjapur (Mayurbhanj), Maidalpur (Nabarangpur), Charichhak (Puri), Ramnaguda (Rayagada), Bareipali (Sambalpur) and Lacchipur (Subarnapur).

Sources said the new stations are being created by diving the existing ones and upgrading the outposts. The fresh recruitments will include posts ranging from constables to inspector.

The move is expected to curb rising anti-social activities and usher improved law and order situation for citizens, the CM hoped.
