Chief Secy Assesses Final Phase Of ISBT Baramunda Construction

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena reviewed the progress of Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) project at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar Sunday morning.

A source said that the project being implemented by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) over 15.5 acre of land will be completed very soon.

Chief Secretary visited the sites earlier in the day to take stock of the progress of works. He asked officials to ensure that all projects are completed within the time schedule.

The project envisages as an inter & intra-state grand bus terminus with interchange facilities from private buses to OSRTC to CRUT and idle bus parking space identified near ISBT for minimal along with dedicated pick up and drop off space for taxi and private vehicles.

The terminal shall have the parking capacity for 143 cars, 107 bikes, 115 active Buses and 300 idle buses and defined spaces for 103 shops.

During the review, the Chief Secretary emphasised the importance of timely completion of the project and urged all stakeholders to work towards achieving the set targets. He highlighted that the bus terminal project is a crucial component of the state transportation infrastructure and will significantly improve the connectivity and convenience for commuters.

The CS was briefed on the current status of the project, including the construction of the terminal building, parking facilities, bus bays, and other ancillary structures. The officials informed him that the construction work is progressing as per schedule, and they are committed to completing the project within the stipulated timeframe.

Jena directed the officials to ensure that all safety and quality standards are strictly adhered to during the project construction process. He also urged all stakeholders to work with utmost dedication and commitment to ensure that the project is completed without any further delay.

Odisha Transport Commissioner Arun Bothra, OSRTC Chairman-cum-Managing Director Diptesh Kumar Pattnayak, BDA Vice-Chairman Balwant Singh, Khordha Collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy, DCP-Bhubaneswar Prateek Singh, senior officials from BDA and CRUT, project managers and representatives of the implementing agency were present on the occasion.
