Organize several activities in collaboration with State Government
Display Arms and ammunitions to reminisce the valour of Netaji
Cuttack, 20 January, 2023: To commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, CRPF and ITBP in collaboration with Government of Odisha organized various activities in the historic city of Cuttack where Netaji was born and spent his early years.
A grand rally beginning from the birth place of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to Anand Bhawan, the birthplace of legendary Biju Patnaik was organized in the morning where in personnel of CRPF, ITBP, Odisha Police, Students, Teachers and public participated. A cycle rally was also organized on the occasion. It was flagged off by Mayor of Cuttack Shri Subhash Singh in the presence of Collector Shri Bhabani Shankar Chayani and officials of CRPF and ITBP.
A blood donation camp was organized at Stewart Science College. Likewise, a plantation drive was held at Ravenshaw Collegiate School, the alma mater of Netaji. To reminisce the valour of Netaji and his Azad Hind Fauj, arms and ammunitions, which include CGRL, Automatic Grenade Launcher, 81 MM Mortar, 7.62 MM MMG, 7.62 MM Sniper, Ghatak Rifle, Wireless Communication system were displayed at Sahid Bhawan.
Events like philatelic exhibition on the life and works of Netaji and Poetry recitation were also being held. In the evening, the family members of martyrs were honoured and patriotic cultural programme were also held.
The Ministry of Home Affairs is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Iconic Events Week from 17th to 23rd January, 2023, to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence. Various events are being organized in different parts of the country on the theme of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s life and his contribution to the freedom struggle.
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah will be the Chief Guest at a grand culmination event to be held in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands on the 23rd of January, 2023.
