Dalmia Bharat Celebrates Van Mahotsav Across Odisha
Bhubaneshwar, 13th July 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable community development, Dalmia Bharat Limited, (DBL), a leading cement manufacturer celebrated Van Mahotsav at its unit in Rajgangpur & Cuttack through a series of plantation drives and awareness initiatives. The celebrations witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, community members, and employees, highlighting the collective responsibility towards building a greener future. Van Mahotsav, or the ‘Forest Festival’, is an annual tree-planting campaign observed across India to promote afforestation and environmental conservation. Dalmia Bharat celebrates the initiative in line with its commitment to sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and community-led environmental action. As part of the initiative, DBL undertook extensive tree planting drives, planting over 1,550 saplings in the communities around its Rajgangpur and Cuttack cement facilities, raising awareness about environmental conservation and building a sustainable planet.
As part of the broader Van Mahotsav Week celebrations, Dalmia Bharat planted a total of 1,250 saplings in Rajgangpur. A key highlight was a plantation and awareness programme at Bihabandha School, attended by over 400 students and teachers in the presence of Mr. Asish Mohanty, HR Head; Mr. Pankaj Gupta, Environment Head; Mrs. Deepika Kerketta, Headmistress; and the CSR team. The programme included an awareness session on environmental conservation and concluded with the plantation of 250 saplings on the school campus.
In Cuttack, the Company celebrated Van Mahotsav Week at Puratan Chhatra Sangha Pathagar, Tangi, with a plantation drive and a drawing competition to promote environmental awareness among students. While 50 forest tree saplings were planted at the event, a total of 300 saplings were planted across the region during the week, reaffirming the Company’s commitment to enhancing green cover and promoting ecological sustainability.
Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Chetan Shrivastav, Executive Director- DCBL and Unit Head, Rajgangpur said, “Environmental stewardship is an integral part of our commitment to sustainable development. Through initiatives like Van Mahotsav, we aim to encourage communities, especially young students, to become active participants in protecting and preserving our natural resources. By combining awareness with action, we hope to inspire long-term environmental responsibility and contribute to a greener, healthier future.”
