Hundreds of patients benefit from Free Mega Health Camp organized by JSW & JCAF
Barbil: In continuation of its human endeavor and to bring about wellness to the people in the region, JSW and Mumbai based Jagannath Cancer Aid Foundation (JCAF) organized two-day Free Mega Health Camp here in the mining areas.
Two health camps, initiated by JSW Foundation, was held on Saturday and Sunday at Nuagaon and Jajang dispensaries respectively and touched many. More than 550 patients from 27 villages attended the health camp and enjoyed the benefits of free health care services.
The mega health camp was organized with the aim of promoting health awareness among the public and offering them easy access to quality healthcare. The camp offered specialist consultations, medicines, laboratory investigations, diabetes test, services at free of cost.
This health camp helped the public addressing various health problems faced by people, along with early detection and prevention of diseases.
Notable, JSW also added the cancer detection service at the camp in association with Jagannath Cancer Aid Foundation, Mumbai. The cancer specialist Dr Dilip Kumar Kar attended patients and conducted diagnosis. Dr Kar is a cancer and Endocine surgeon and currently offering his service at Utkal Hospital in Bhubaneswar.
A team of doctors including three general physicians, one gynecologist and one orthopedic specialist offered health services and consultations to patients.
Dr Kar said, “Such free health camp will surely help the needy who are unable to acess specialists doctors outside this region. The camp was helpful in raising awareness on lifestyle-diseases and promotion of health awareness.”
JSW Foundation has been organizing similar Mega Health and Cencer diagnosis camps across its business locations across the state since early this year in partnership with JCAF and plans to conduct more follow-up camps in coming days. JSW officials, dignitaries and village level coordinators were present at the two-day free health camp.
