Odisha Govt Asks Tehsildars, Additional Tehsildars To Hold Camp Courts At Village Level
Bhubaneswar: The state government has directed the Tehsildars and Additional Tehsildars to hold camp courts by visiting revenue villages and panchayats under their jurisdictions from September 15.
Acting upon the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Revenue and Disaster Management department Additional Chief Secretary Satyabrata Sahu has asked the Tehsildars and Additional Tehsildars to visit revenue villages and panchayats for two to three days in a week for holding the camp courts.
“The Tehsildars and Additional Tehsildars have been asked to hold camp courts for disposal of various cases related to Revenue department at the village level. The camp courts would be instrumental in quick disposal of cases. The people will not be forced to visit Tehsil offices for this purpose,” said an official of Revenue and Disaster Management department.
The state government has written to all district Collectors and sensitized the Revenue Divisional Commissioners to take the necessary steps for holding the camp courts. The Nodal Officers of all districts have been asked to conduct special review meetings on the functioning of camp courts.
“The state government will take stern action against the Tehsildars and Additional Tehsildars if they fail to hold the camp courts,” said the official.
Notably, the state government has introduced several measures to provide easy and quick service to the people under the Revenue and Disaster Management department. Most of the services under the department are now being provided thorough online mode.
Besides, steps have been taken to provide land deeds and other certificates to people at their doorsteps.
