STATE BANK’S VISION FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2022-23

SBI is giving priority on relationship with the Government, and has focussed for all sorts of support for ‘Make in Odisha’ programme. Very recently, Chairman of Bank and the Chief Minister of the State had a discussion in Mumbai. SBI along with its focus on completing their target in Govt sponsored schemes will surpass the budget in PMEGP, Mudra etc.

Shri Chander Sekhar Sharma, CGM has also emphasised cleanliness of branches , ATMs , improvement in across the counter services through out the state.

SBI has big plans for development of export sector in Odisha. Bank has aimed to disburse Rs.1000 crores for the sector in the current financial year 2022-23 and till date already disbursed Rs.300 crores . This year SBI has set a target of increase of 300% in export finance. In exports, focus shall be on prawn, sea food and agriculture item , as told by Shri Chander Sekhar Sharma , Chief General Manager , SBI Bhubanesewar Circle. Apart from exports, they also focus on start-ups, real estate, SME, new ethanol projects and infrastucture development projects of religious places. Bank is in contact with different Industry Bodies to assess the feasibility of dedicated branch for start-ups. Bank has already sanctioned two ethanol projects. Also other 3 units are in the pipeline. Likewise, Bank has provided fund for set up of 3 highend hotels in Puri. In real estate , Bank has tied up with 3-4 big builders for finance.

In the current financial year (2022-23), Bank has set a target of disbursing Rs.2000 crores and Rs.1000 crores to SME & Real Estate sectors respectively. Apart from this, Bank has set a growth target  of Rs.15000 Crores and Rs.50,000 Crores in Adavances and Deposits respectively. Bank has already focussed to increase Xpress Credit base during this festive season where lot of facilities are availabale for the customer. . Shri Sharma wants SBI endeavours to add maximum people in Government’s social welfare schemes. Now, in Odisha, SBI has 885 branches, 3400 ATMs and nearly 10000 touch points. In order to enhance SBI’s presence in the state, SBI has planned to open 20-25 new branches in 4 remote distrcts and Bank is waiting for necessary infrastructure and communication facilities. Bank is also planning to set up 3 new branches on Bhubaneswar-Cuttack National Highway.

In the front of CSR activities , SBI has already stood in front. In recent flood in the state, many of ourt branches have reached the affected people with essenitial items for them. In addition to this, we are always supporting for good causes like plantation, women empowerment, social development etrc.

Shrti Sharma has declared to establish felicitation for Media people in print media and electronic media for

  1. Biju Pattnaik Award for social reporting
  2. R K Talwar Award for financial reporting and
  3. Kalinga Award for reporting sports and youth affairs

This award will be given on 26th January every year. Shri Sharma reiterated Bank’s commitment to make Banking services available  to poorest of the poor.
