TPNODL Condemns Attack on Enforcement Team in Bhadrak; Urges Public Cooperation

Balasore, 23rd June 2026: TPNODL strongly condemns the attack on its enforcement team during a routine enforcement raid conducted in Chandipur village, Bhadrak district, on 19th June. The team was discharging its official duty to uphold the integrity of the power distribution system and ensure equitable supply for all consumers in the region. Following the incident, a police complaint has been lodged and the matter is under investigation. The company has initiated appropriate legal recourse and will continue to work closely with the district administration and law enforcement authorities to prevent recurrence of such incidents.


Such acts of aggression endanger the safety of personnel on duty and affect the morale of those working round the clock to maintain quality and reliable power services. TPNODL believes that cooperation between consumers and field teams is essential to building a safer and more dependable power distribution ecosystem in the region.

Condemning the incident, Mr. Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, CEO – TPNODL, stated that the company views it as an impediment to the public interest and urged consumers to support the team on the ground and refrain from conduct that hampers their duty. TPNODL has also appealed to consumers to report power theft incidents in their localities. Under the Electricity Act, 2003, power theft is a punishable offence attracting penalties including fines and imprisonment. Electricity theft imposes a financial burden on honest consumers and adversely impacts electricity services quality and reliability across the region and the state.
