43rd All India Major Ports Volleyball and 17th Beach Volleyball Championship 2021-22 kicks off
Paradip: In the joint association of Paradip Port Authority and Major Ports Sports Control Board, 43rd All India Major Ports Volleyball and 17th Beach Volleyball Championship 2021-22 kicked off this evening at Gopabandhu stadium. The event will come to an end on 15th April. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest Shri A.K. Bose, Dy. Chairman, said that after two years of the pandemic, the stage has given an ample opportunity to the Major Ports Community to interact among themselves about their well being. It will develop brotherhood among the Port fraternity. He advised all the players to play in sports spirit and avoid any kind of untoward incident. Shri Bose took the salute in the march past by participants.
Organising committee Secretary Dr. D.P. Sethy gave the welcome speech and Vice-chairman Shri Babul Sikdar and Chairman Shri D.N. Sondhi spoke on the occasion. PPA Sports Council Secretary Ranjan Rashmi Beura and Advisor Rabi Das conducted the programme.
On the occasion, students of Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir sang the opening chorus and artists from Sagarika Kala Niketan and Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir performed in the cultural programme. Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir Host Troupe and Paradip District Judo Team and Karate team performed demonstrations. Around 120 participants from seven major ports are participating in the sports extravaganza. Today’s opening match held between PPA & Mormugao Port Authoriy.
