Former Odisha MLA Roshni Singh Deo Passes Away
Bhubaneswar: Former MLA Roshni Singh Deo passed away followed prolonged illness here today. She was 82.
She breather her last at residence of her son Pushpendra Singh Deo, who is the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and former Minister, in Bhubaneswar.
Roshni Singh Deo was elected to the State Legislative Assembly for two consecutive terms from Koksara seat in Kalahandi district from 1995 to 2004. While she was the legislator from the Assembly Constituency on Janata Dal ticket during the period 1995 and 2000, she retained the seat being elected on BJD ticket after formation of the party led by Naveen Patnaik.
Following division of Koksara Assembly Constituency, her son Pushpendra Singh Deo was elected to the State Assembly from Dharmagarh seat in the year 2004. He was the MLA from the constituency till 2019.
With demise of the former legislator Roshni Singh Deo, people in Kalahandi district expressed their condolences. Her body will be taken to her residence at Jayapatna in Kalahandi district for last rites.
