Puri: Devotees Witness Nabajaubana Besha Of Lord Jagannath, Siblings After 2 Years
Puri: Thousands of devotees thronged the pilgrim town of Puri today to witness the Nabajaubana Besha of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra at the Shree Jagannath Temple here.
The Nabajaubana Darshan was cancelled for the last two years due to the COVID-19 situation. The devotees were seemingly happy to have darshan of the deities in the Nabajaubana Besha as it is believed the the Holy Trinity appears in youthful form on this day after recovering from fever due to the bath on the occasion of Snana Purnima.
The deities were earlier at the Anasara Ghara for a period of 14 days for treatment.
As per the schedule, Parimanik (paid) darshan was held for a period of one hour from 8 am to 9 am after opening of the temple in the morning.
As per the schedule, the devotees will be allowed for general darshan from 9 am to 10.30 am, from 2 pm to 3 pm, from 6 pm to 6.30 pm, from 9 pm to 10.30 pm and from 11.30 pm to 12.30 am.
However, the general darshan will be restricted from 10.30 am to 2 pm, from 3 pm to 6 pm, from 6.30 pm to 9 pm and 10.30 pm to 11.30 pm for conducting special rituals of deities at the temple.
The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has also released the schedule for darshan of deities on the occasion of Ubha Jatra (a day before Ratha Jatra) on June 30.
A day before Ratha Jatra scheduled on July 1, the devotees can have glimpse of deities at the temple from 4 am to 6.30 am, from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm and from 3.30 pm to 5 pm on June 30.
The general darshan will be restricted for devotees from 6.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
