WhatsApp users may soon be able to transfer chats from Android phones to iPhones
Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly planning to allow its users to migrate their chat history from an Android device to an iPhone soon. Currently, chat transfer feature is available from iOS to Samsung devices and Google pixel since last October. Now, the company is planning to expand this feature to more Android phones.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on an “import chat history” feature that will let Android users move their chats to an iPhone device.
The feature was spotted in development in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS v22.2.74. The report also has a screenshot which shows that the app asks users for their permission to import chat history.
Beta testers haven’t yet got access to the experience as WABetaInfo has only found references of the feature till now. Currently, it is not available to everyone at the moment.
